ARMED Forces!

“Assistance Reinforcing Ministers Every Day”

“With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles”  (II Chronicles 32:8).

Prayer for the ministerial body of the United Pentecostal Church International (UPCI) is imperative. This is part of the “heartbeat” of God! We must stand in the gap and help carry the burden of today’s ministers through the power of intercessory prayer so that the church may be fully-equipped to face the challenges of this end time and fully-empowered for great victory!

The story chronicled in Exodus 17:8-13 illustrates the significance of holding up our ministers’ hands in prayer. Aaron and Hur came along side Moses and held up his hands, as his arms lifted too, until the enemy was conquered, and a great victory was wrought. Through such a task force, God’s leader and His people were greater “Armed” to defeat the enemy. God’s ministers can be greater equipped in ministry through the ARMED Forces of intercessors who stretch forth their hands and arms in corporate prayer to hold up the hands/arms of our ministers by standing in the gap to triumph over the enemy!

World Network of Prayer (WNOP) has launched an initiative called “ARMED Forces” denoted as [(Assistance Reinforcing Ministers Every Day) Forces]. This initiative is partly designed to engage local church members to commit to consistent prayer and fasting for every minister within a congregational body as a source of support as each endeavors to fill their ministerial responsibilities and duties. This comprises all pastors and specified ministers, which includes travelling evangelists as well as all ministers within the five-fold ministry in or affiliated with a local church home base.

Spirit-led prayer for our ministers will bring greater supernatural anointing, power, ability, the miraculous, the gifts of the Spirit, direction, protection, as well as strength and divine health—physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually...and much more! Through such strategic support we believe that God will meet many specific needs for all of our ministers, according to His great will and purpose (I Timothy 2:1-3). There is power in having a complete prayer covering upon those who stand in the forefront and lead the way in the kingdom of God!

This strategic initiative will be accomplished by obtaining a list of names of all ministers who are members of the local church congregation; by requesting congregants to sign up and join the ARMED Forces through committing to consistent prayer and fasting for a specific assigned UPCI minister(s) within the local church assembly; and by utilizing online, ministerial prayer focuses posted on the WNOP website at wnop.org for more effective unified prayer (Agendas also may include prayer for Associate, Family, Youth, (Pastors), Pastors wives, etc) .

WNOP urgently requests that every church implement the ARMED Forces initiative to greater support our precious UPCI ministers in prayer. We ardently appeal to all pastors to implement this vital ministerial support plan. Saints, we passionately appeal to you to respond when presented in your church, by signing up and committing to consistent prayer and fasting. WNOP encourages every prayer coordinator to faithfully encourage prayer and fasting for our ministers. Psalm 133:2-3 says “It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down...even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments...as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing...” The anointing flows from the top, on down...and when you pray and fast for our ministers and their families, then you personally too will be a recipient of the “blessings of God” as it flows from the pulpit to the pew!
