PrayerConnect for December 27, 2016
Proverbs 18:21 tells us “Death and life are in the power of the tongue:” Another translation of the spassage says, “Words can kill or words can give life”.
What kind of words are coming out of your mouth? In your speech daily and in your prayers? I once read a church sign that said, “Do you pray or worry on your knees”? I had to stop and think and do a little self-evaluation. Perhaps this week as you approach the New Year, you could do the same.
I want my words to be positive. I want my prayers to be full of faith-filled words. I want to spend time in prayer focusing on His Word and the promises He has given us, not on the circumstances as they are. The enemy would like nothing more than to take our focus off of God’s promises, but I’ve decided that just isn’t going to work for me. I will speak faith. I will speak life. Since the Bible tells me my words have power, I’ve decided to use them for the greater good! My plan for 2017 is to pray more and to pray better.
The focus of the 30 Days of Prayer is “Greater”. I want my outreach efforts and my soul winning to be “Greater”. I want my giving to be “Greater”. I want my dedication and my consecration to be “Greater”. I want my words to be “Greater”….a greater influence, a greater encouragement, a greater help to others. I want my words to be pleasing to God and ones that will touch and move His heart. Through my prayers, I want to speak life to those lost. I want to speak life and health to bodies that are ravaged with pain and sickness. I want to speak of the great things of God in my life.
Join with me on January 1 as WNOP begins the 30 Days of Prayer. There is power in united, focused prayer and I want to be a part of God wants to do as we begin 2017.
God bless you and Happy New Year to you and yours.
