Don’t Worry

In reading through the ECHOgram, I decided to look up how many scriptures referring to “do not fear” or “fret not” were in the Bible. The first article I found said there were 365 verses. I was thrilled… for each day. Then I read something that said many of them were a different context than someone who was going through a trial or difficult time. I was disappointed. But then I read one sentence that put it all in perspective for me.  It said, “What does it matter? If God said it once, isn’t that enough?”
Wow! What an eye opener for me. There was stinging truth in that sentence. If God said it one time, that should be more than enough for us.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus”(Philippians 4:6-7).
Whatever circumstance you are facing today, find comfort in that fact that God has given many promises in His Word that He will be with you. Although there are many, truthfully, ONE is all you need.
